The media
A commitment to the earth and to
the environment:
I am an environmentally-conscious
person and artist. In my daily life, I make every effort to lower my
impact on the resources of mother earth. I chose the natural leaves
for the painting media as a way to honor each leaf in its uniqueness;
however, it's also a way not to impact the environment: in some way, I
recycle some leaves that have already given their share to earth by
producing chlorophyll and helping in the process of the
photosynthesis.

Where does the leaves come from?
The process to prepare and
preserve the leaves:
The challenge of painting on the
leaves:
Depending on the type of leaf, the
painting process takes more time as the texture of some leaves absorbs
more of the acrylic. The morphology, the surface, the shape, the
margin, the venation, the hairiness, the tip and the base of each leaf
dictate the challenge of applying the acrylic paint onto the leaf. The
shape and the venation mainly contribute to the overall presentation
of the portrait.
